    OSU Extension Trumbull County will be offering a pesticide test-prep session on March 13, 2018 for those who want to obtain their Pesticide Applicators License. We will cover material that is on the CORE exam and touch upon the key points for many category exams. Cost for this class is $35/person and includes all study materials for the CORE exams.     OSU Extension's annual Agronomy School will be on February 21, 2018 at the Williamsfield Community Center in Williamsfield, OH. Topics will include precision ag, updates to regulations, soil health, and how to manage finances with tight margins. Cost for the entire day is $15/person and includes lunch sponsored by WI Miller and Sons. Registration is required by February 13, 2018.   5. Feb. 14, 2018 6:00pm to 9:00pm

    Fertilizer Applicator Certification Training will be held at the Trumbull County OSU Extension office on February 14, 2018. This class will certify individuals that apply fertilizer to 50 acres or more. Cost for the class is $35/person. Call 33-638-6783 or email Lee Beers at beers.66@osu.edu for more information.     Trumbull County Master Gardeners are bringing back their popular plant sale for 2017. Mark your calendars for May 20 to stop out to the OSU Extension office to find your next landscape, shrub, or veggie plant.

    Kitchen and yard waste contain large amounts of nutrients that can be recycled back into your soil. The key to getting those nutrients into a usable form for plants to break them down by composting, but many people do it incorrectly. Join us on April 20th to learn about the basics of composting to get the most back from your garbage and limit your exposure to pathogens. Cost for the event is $15/person and is open to everyone.

    We will be offering our Chainsaw Safety Class on April 8th, 2017 here at the Trumbull County Ag Center from 9am-noon. Topics will include chainsaw safety basics, proper maintenance, and safe felling/bucking techniques. Pre-registration is required by April 5th. We will be outside for demonstrations, so please dress accordingly.

    Join OSU Extension as we host our annual Agronomy School for crop farmers in Northeast Ohio. With profit margins decreasing it will be vital for crop producers to get the biggest bang from the dollars they invest in land rental, seed and fertilizer, technology, chemicals, and crop protection. This workshop is sponsored by the OSU Extension offices in Ashtabula, Trumbull & Geauga Counties with support from W.I. Miller & Sons & the Ohio Soybean Council.

    Do your trees and shrubs look a little rough? Jim Chatfield, OSU Extension Specialist, will be here to show you the best way to remove plant material to restore vigor and beauty to your landscape plants. Class is open to everyone, and the cost is $15/person. The class will start inside the classroom, but we will be heading outside for hands-on demonstrations for most of the class. Please dress appropriately for the weather.
