Observation and Assessment

Participants will investigate the principles of observation and assessment. Exploring how assessment helps
educators and families work together to ask the questions and find the answers about young children’s
development and learning. We will explore ways to create a learning environment appropriate for young
children, different strategies and methods to collect objective evidence and communicate effectively with
families about their progress while realizing the impact that culture and linguistics have on these
relationships and assessments. Ohio Approved
