Master Gardeners Receive State Award

Master Gardener Jan Russel Assist Residents at Lake Vista

Congratulations to The Ohio State University Extension Master Gardeners in Trumbull County for their receipt of the Outstanding Master Gardener Volunteer Excellence Award for Special audiences at the recent State Master Gardener Conference.  The group was recognized for their Eldercare Program being conducted at Lake Vista and Cortland Health Care. This is the third year for the program lead by Carol Caronite and volunteers from the Master Gardeners. Each Master Gardener received special training in Horticultural Therapy prior to participating in the program. The group has developed an instruction manual which can be used across the state by other Master Gardener organizations interested in developing a program in their counties.
