THANK YOU!!
Our Goal was $100,000 - we hit it!!!!!!!!!!
What is a County 4-H Endowment?
County 4-H endowments are permanent funds made possible through individual donations, business and corporate contributions, and fund raising events. Principal is invested permanently though the Ohio 4-H Foundation to generate the maximum interest possible. The interest income returns to the county to fund local 4-H youth development education programs, and adds value to the county endowment to keep pace with inflation.
Does Trumbull County have a 4-H Endowment Fund?
Yes. Our 4-H Endowment was officially recognized by the Ohio State University Development Fund. Many local individuals deserve credit for their time and money spent to realize this goal.

The Trumbull County 4-H Endowment Committee had a fundraising dinner & auction in the Spring of 2005. Many generous businesses and organizations donated wonderful items to be used in the auction. 4-H families and non-4-H families came out to support the dinner & auction. Fun was had by all and the evening was a success with a nearly $8,000 profit!
The Trumbull County 4-H Endowment Committee is selling 4-H Angels as a fundraiser. The angels are a handmade crystal clear glass angel icicle ornament holding a 4-H clover. These angels are made at Eagle Glass in Painesville, OH. The halo is painted with a liquid gold and then oven fired onto glass, giving it a brilliant finish. Angel dimensions are approximately 5 3/4 - 6" high x 1 1/2" wide x 1 1/2 - 1 3/4" deep. The cost of the angels is $10.00 (add $5.00 for shipping). To order an angel, contact Michelle Adkins at the OSU Extension Office or at (330) 637-2437. Or, stop in the Trumbull County OSU Extension Office. Click on the Picture to Email Michelle
Is a gift to the Trumbull County Endowment fund recognized as a gift to The Ohio State University?
Yes. Contributions are sent to the State 4-H office earmarked for the Trumbull County 4-H Endowment Fund and deposited with the Ohio 4-H Foundation which is a part of the university's development fund.
Why is it necessary to have a county 4-H Endowment?
County, state and federal budgets are very restricted, and usually cannot be stretched to provide more than the basic necessities. Interest income from county endowments can supplement these budgets in addition to annual contributions to help assist with:
- awards for youth and adult volunteers
- providing added incentives
- development of new programs
- youth and volunteer education
- scholarships\purchasing of program materials
Monies generated through earned interest is administered by the Trumbull County 4-H Advisory Committee. These individuals have a concern for the local 4-H program and distribute money through a formal process.
Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes. The Ohio 4-H Foundation and Trumbull County 4-H Endowment is charitable foundation. Consult your accountant or tax attorney for specific guidance on your gift.
